Do you want to help build the Swedish Armed Forces' innovation system?
Are you curious, creative, and good at collaborating? Then this could be your dream job. We are looking for someone with experience in working with innovation who wants to strengthen our capability development team.
The Strategy Unit at the Armed Forces Headquarters is part of the central leadership and headquarters of the Swedish Armed Forces. We provide support for the Chief of Defence's military strategic leadership in areas such as defense planning, international relations, strategic planning, and development.
The Development Department consists of about thirty employees who prepare, direct, and follow up on research, studies, technology development, innovation, and development collaborations both nationally and internationally.
About the position
As an employee in the Development Department, you will handle cases that are often complex, have limited input values, require collaboration with many stakeholders, and operate at a high pace. You should be able to lead the preparation of cases from task analysis to presentation for decision-makers, often in collaboration with various parts of the Armed Forces as well as with external parties nationally and internationally. You are expected to contribute with method development, innovative thinking, and creativity in an exciting and important operation aimed at strengthening the Armed Forces' capability development.
Main responsibilities
- Participate in building the Armed Forces' innovation system, which involves establishing defense innovation as a working method in the Armed Forces, building networks within the organization, improving internal processes, and creating methods for needs capture.
- Collaborate with other authorities and also with the industry.
- Be involved in the section's other work in related areas.
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications
- Academic degree in a relevant field for the position.
- Previous experience in similar tasks.
- Service in the Armed Forces or another related authority within total defense.
- Experience in leading projects.
- Very good knowledge of Swedish and English in both speech and writing.
Meritorious
- Good knowledge of the Swedish innovation system.
- Knowledge of and interest in change management and communication.
Personal qualities
You are outgoing and responsible, focused on delivering requested results on time. You can work at a high pace and have the ability to shift focus when needed. As a person, you are curious, communicative, and attentive, and you have a humble attitude towards colleagues and tasks. You enjoy being part of a team, supporting others, and can also work independently and take your own initiatives. You are meticulous and structured, have strong organizational skills, and can handle multiple tasks simultaneously. In addition to formal competence, great importance is placed on personal qualities.

Start date June 1, 2026, or as agreed. No later than October 1, 2027.
Employment form: This is a civilian position (at CF4 level) and a parental leave replacement at 100 percent.
Work location: The position is based at the Development Coordination Section at the Headquarters in Stockholm.
